About
I have spent more than 30 years in accounting, and the part of that work I do best is the controller's part: closing the month, producing statements a board can act on, getting an organization through its audit, and building the controls that keep it safe.
I learned that work by doing it. At Goodwill Industries of Southern Florida I led the finance department of a large multi-program nonprofit: the finance staff, the annual audits, the budget, grant tracking across programs, and the monthly financial presentation to the board and its finance committee.
Later, as Accounting Manager for a manufacturer, I owned the general ledger and the close, supervised the AP and AR team, put fraud prevention controls in place and tightened the cash forecast. Fenton Bookkeeping brings that same seat to organizations that need it a few days a month instead of every day.
How I Work
Every correction and adjusting entry is documented with why it was made. Your auditors, your CPA and your next controller can follow the trail.
Reporting tells leadership what changed, what it means, and what needs a decision, in plain language and on schedule.
No call center and no rotating staff. The person who assesses your books is the person who closes them and answers for them.
